Less than 4% of the people in the Netherlands actively follow Jesus, while billions of dollars flow through legalized prostitution and the “soft” drug industry each year. In the middle of that spiritual darkness, God has called the Smith family to bring the hope and light of Christ to Western Europe.
Jordan and Morgan Smith are ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God who have spent the last 13 years serving in ministry together as student pastors, worship pastors, associate pastors, church planters, and lead pastors. They met on a Chi Alpha planting trip to Bolivia and have now been married for 13 years. Alongside ministry, both have also served in the marketplace, bringing professional leadership experience into missions.
Jordan became deeply involved in Chi Alpha while attending the University of Arkansas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. He later earned a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from John Brown University and has spent the last decade leading in IT and cybersecurity roles. Morgan grew up in Searcy, Arkansas, attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, and also became involved in Chi Alpha during college.
Together with their 5-year-old daughter, Nora, the Smiths are serving in the Netherlands with Assemblies of God World Missions. In addition to sharing the gospel and discipling believers, they have been invited to mentor young adults, church planters, and pioneers through the Netherlands Hub and the Alkmaar Discipleship Training Center. Their prayer is to see hearts turned from darkness to the light of Jesus and for revival in the Netherlands to impact all of Western Europe.
